Donardo P.  Sim
Donardo Paras Sim, 71, of Enfield loving husband of 43 years to Leticia (Lety) Flores Sim, passed away at St. Francis Hospital on Saturday, May 7, 2016, surrounded by his family. Donardo was born April 19, 1945
in Manila, Philippines the son of the late Benito and Nicolasa Sim. Donardo (Leo) received his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and Electrical Engineering from Mapua Institute of Technology in the Philippines. He immigrated to the U.S. in 1974.He was employed with Hamilton Sundstrand in Windsor Locks, CT for over 22 years retiring in 2002 as a Manufacturing Engineer. After retiring from Hamilton Sundstrand, he began consulting for Belcan Corporation from which he retired 6 years later. Donardo enjoyed singing and fishing in his free time. He was a member of the Hazardville United Methodist Church and was longtime member of the choir. He was also a member of the Enfield Community Chorus and a member of PACI, the Philippine-American Association of CT, Inc. In addition to his wife, Leticia, he is also survived by two sons, Don Leonard Sim of Ashville, NC and Robert Joseph Sim and his wife, Teresa of Sugar Land, TX; two brothers, Carilto Sim of Queens, NY and Jose Sim and his wife, Ariel of Novaliches, Philippines; two sisters, Nelly Angeles and her husband, Eliab of Ontario Canada and Dolores Garcia and her husband, Jesse of Manilla, Philippines; four beloved grandchildren, Marion, Brandon, David, and Gabriela Sim and several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are welcome to join the family during visiting hours on Thursday, May 12 from 6 pm to 8 pm and Friday May 13 from 6 pm to 8 pm at the Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Rd.,Enfield, CT. The funeral service for Donardo will be celebrated on Saturday, May 14 at 10 am at the Hazardville United Methodist Church, 330 Hazard Ave., Enfield, CT. Burial will follow in Hazardville Cemetery.
