Patrick H. “Pat” Broderick, 74, of Windsor Locks, loving husband of Mary (McConachie) Broderick entered into Eternal Rest on Saturday, August 13, 2016. Patrick was born January 26, 1942, in Springfield, MA the son of the late Henry M. and Edna (Fahey) Broderick. He proudly served in the Army National Guard from 1962 through 1964 and then the Air National Guard from 1964 through 1967. Pat retired after 45 years from Ironworkers Local No. 15 in Hartford where he was employed as Journeyman Ironworker, Apprentice Coordinator and former President. He was the founder and former president of Local No. 15 Retirees Club. Pat was very proud of his Irish heritage and was a member of the Irish American Home Society in Glastonbury. Pat was an active and faithful parishioner of St. Mary Church and served as former president of the parish council. He was an active member of the Knights of Columbus Riverside Council # 26 in Windsor Locks and Past Grand Knight. Through Pat’s hard work and dedication, he helped bring cruise night to the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed auto racing with his sons and was an avid fan of all motor sports and vintage cars. Pat was also a Boy Scout Troop leader for several years. In addition to his wife of 50 years, Mary, he is also survived by two children, Brian Broderick of Windsor Locks and Maureen Broderick and her partner, Michael Fisher of Enfield; his beloved granddaughter, Iris Broderick; his sister, Kathleen Leber and her husband, Abe of Belmont, VT; his daughter-in-law, Susan Broderick and several nieces and nephews. Pat was predeceased by his son, Patrick H. Broderick Jr. Relatives and friends are welcome to join the family on Thursday, August 18, 2016, from 4 pm to 8 pm at the Windsor Locks Funeral Home, 441 Spring St., Windsor Locks. A funeral procession will gather at the funeral home on Friday, August 19, 2016, at 9 am for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10 am at St. Mary Church. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary Church, 42 Spring St., Windsor Locks, CT 06096 or to American Diabetes Association, 2080 Silas Deane Highway, 2nd Floor, Rocky Hill, CT 06067
