Donald L. Loveland, Sr., 89, of Windsor Locks, CT husband of the late Anna (Garvey) Loveland entered into Eternal Rest on Sunday, February 12, 2017, at Hartford Hospital. Don was born February 15, 1927, in Hartford, CT the son of the late Lewis and Grace (Nye) Loveland. He proudly served in the United States Army during World War II in Italy as a member of the Blue Devils. He retired from The Teamsters after forty-two years. He was a life-member and retired Captain of the 1st Company Governor's Horse Guard in Avon. Don is survived by six children, Donald Loveland, Jr. of Windsor Locks, Thomas Loveland and his wife, Deborah of East Granby, Ann M. Loveland of East Windsor, Matthew Loveland and Timothy Loveland both of Windsor Locks and Keith Loveland of Granby; seven grandchildren, Megan Loveland and her husband, Mike Beaulieu, Bethany Lyle and her husband, Alex, Kyle Loveland and his wife, Rachael, Matthew and Rebecca Loveland, Brendon, Layne and Colton Morris, 6 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Don was predeceased by a brother, Frank Loveland and his twin sister, Dorothy Majewski. Relatives and friends are welcome to join the family on Friday, February 17, 2017, from 5 pm to 8 pm at the Windsor Locks Funeral Home, 441 Spring St., Windsor Locks. A funeral procession will gather by 9 am on Saturday February 18, 2017, at the funeral home for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10 am at St. Robert Bellarmine Church. Burial with military honors will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
