Obituary for Lucille M. Soovajian (Sevigny)

Lucille M. (Sevigny) Soovajian, 83 of Windsor Locks, passed away on Saturday, March 25, 2017 at Fresh River Healthcare in East Windsor with her loving family by her side. Born in Hartford on August 9, 1933 daughter of the late, Romeo and Rose (Durette) Sevigny, she was predeceased by her sister Anita and brothers Roger, Rene, Normand, and Paul. She grew up in Hartford andwas proud of her years in the Lafayette Drill Team. Settling in Windsor Locks in 1968, Lucille worked several years in accounting before she retired. She was a parishioner of St. Robert Bellarmine Church, Windsor Locks, enjoyed knitting, reading, and puzzles. She was an avid fan of the Red Sox, UCONN Women's basketball and chocolate. Lucille is now with her loving family and her beloved Fenway.

Lucille leaves a son and four daughters, Cynthia Thompson and her husband Christopher of Dover, NH, William Soovajian and his wife Mary of Springfield, MA, Kathleen Stanton and her husband Edward of Higganum, Marie Nolan and her husband Larry of Windsor Locks, and Susan Soovajian of Windsor Locks with whom she lived and who lovingly cared for her. She also leaves her four grandchildren; Ryan Thompson and his wife Kate, Aaron Thompson, Matthew Soovajian and Timothy Soovajian. Her ray of light was her great grandchild, Jack Thompson. Lucille leaves a sister Irene Lajeunesse and husbandBob of Vernon, brothers Romeo “Junior” Sevigny and wife Pauline of Windsor Locks and Dan Sevigny and wife Lee of South Windsor, her sisters-in-law, Janet (Nadeau) Sevigny of Plantsville, Irene (DuMouchel) Sevigny of East Hampton, and Marion (Soovajian) Boornazian and husband Bill of Glastonbury. A loving niece, Peg (Sevigny) Army and her family, and many other nieces, nephews and step-grandchildren are also left behind.

Lucille's family extends their gratitude to the staff at Fresh River and Beacon Hospice for their dedication and kindness given to their mom.

Family and friends may gather on Wednesday, March 29, 2017, at 9 a.m. at Windsor Locks Funeral Home, 441 Spring Street, Windsor Locks, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Robert Bellarmine Church, 52 South Elm Street, Windsor Locks. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery. Her family will receive friends during visiting hours on Tuesday, March 28, 2017, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
