Marilyn L.  Raynor
Marilyn L. Raynor, 73, of Enfield, beloved wife of James Raynor for 54 years, entered into eternal peace Wednesday April 19, 2017 at Hartford Hospital. Born in Meriden, CT, Marilyn was the daughter of the late Eudore LaPointe and Margaret (Briere) Pierce. She was raised in Manchester, CT and lived in the Enfield community for 53 years. She was employed as a secretary for several companies over 20 years. She was a communicant of Holy Family Church and a member of the Legion of Mary Auxiliary. Marilyn was also a member of the John Maciolek Post #154 American Legion Women's Auxiliary. She loved crafts, baking, and gardening. She really enjoyed going to tag sales and locating unique and special finds for family and friends. Besides her husband Jim, Marilyn is survived by three daughters, Patricia "Patty" Schaffels and her husband Michael of Spokane, WA, Jill Smith and her husband Mark of Enfield, and Karen Slaydon and her husband Glen of Enfield; a brother, Ronald LaPointe of Winter Haven, FL, three sisters, Rachel Pietrycha of Newington, Janis Pierce and Lisa Pierce, both of Leicester, NC; three beloved grandchildren, Meghan Rhodes, and Alison and Kyle Slaydon; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Thomas LaPointe. Marilyn's family wishes to thank the staff at Hartford Hospital for the wonderful care they provided. Visitation hours will be held from 2-5 p.m. Sunday, April 23, 2017 at Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Rd., Enfield. Family and friends will gather at 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 24, 2017 at Leete-Stevens for a procession to Holy Family Church, 23 Simon Rd., Enfield for a 11:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial. Committal will follow at St. Patrick's King St. Cemetery. Donations in Marilyn's memory may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942.
