Obituary for Ronald R. Avery

Ronald R. Avery, 84, a longtime resident of Windsor Locks passed away on June 28, 2017. He was the loving husband of the late Margaret “Peggy “(Mayoros) Avery. Ronald was born on September 8, 1932, the son, of the late Ernest R. and Mary (Forrest) Avery. Ronald was employed by the Dexter Corporation for twenty-nine years, and a longtime parishioner of St. Robert Bellarmine Church. He served in the United States Air Force, serving his country during the Korean War. Ronald enjoyed traveling the world and spending his winters in Hawaii. He is survived by his wife, Kay Marshall; his children, Ronald R. Avery Jr. and his wife, Deborah of Monson, MA, Elise Avery of Middletown, Kimberly Pease and her husband, Richard of Windsor Locks, Kevin Avery and his wife, Lina of Windsor Locks; spiritual son Fr. Anthony Raja of Italy; his brother Robert Avery of Somers; his sister Joan Curran of FL; seven grandchildren, Avery, Ashley, McKenzie, Brendan, Julian, Jessica, Kristian, and a great-grandson Ryder. Ronald was predeceased by two brothers Richard and Edward Avery. The family will receive relatives and friends during visitation hours on Sunday, July 16, 2017, from 2:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M. at the Windsor Locks Funeral Home, 441 Spring Street, Windsor Locks. A funeral procession will gather by 9:30 A.M. on Monday July 17, 2017, at the funeral home for a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M. at St. Robert Bellarmine Church, 52 South Elm Street, Windsor Locks. Burial with military honors will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Seasons Hospice Foundation, 6400 Shafer Ct, Suite # 700, Rosemont, IL 60018.
