Robert Thompson Taylor of Rotterdam NY (formerly of Bloomfield, CT) will be laid to rest at Grove Cemetery, Windsor Locks, CT on Friday, July 27th at 2 pm with a memorial service to follow at 5 pm at the Bloomfield Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Robert was born to the late Robert Lee Taylor and Gloria Thompson Taylor as the first of fourteen siblings. Robert served in the U.S. Marine Corps for two years before he went on to become well-known as one of the best printer press operators at his job of thirty years at The Hartford Insurance Company. During his retirement, Robert experienced his greatest joy when he spent time with his family and friends and volunteered his time in bible education work. His favorite pastime activity was exploring new electronic and computer technology. Robert will be remembered fondly by his children for his fun-loving spirit, trips to theme parks, and rides on his shoulders. He will be dearly missed for his positive attitude, sense of humor, and ingrained spirituality. Robert’s two children, Kenneth Leroy Taylor (Burlington, MA) and Angeline Schell (Richard Schell) of Rotterdam, NY, survive him along with his nephew whom he considered as his own son, Michael Bryant (Elizabeth Bryant) of Springfield, MA. Robert is also survived by his two grandchildren, Logan and Lana Schell, and a host of beloved nieces and nephews. Robert is also survived by his sisters - Gloria Bryant, Joan Caesar, Arlene Taylor, Dorothy Taylor, Nancy Taylor, Valerie Taylor, and Margaret James (Edward James); and two brothers - Ollie Taylor and Terry Taylor. He was predeceased by his wife of 52 years, Daulina Taylor, and four siblings - MaryJean, Alice, Janet and David. Memorial service Friday, July 27th, 5 pm at the Bloomfield Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 580 Tower Ave, Bloomfield, CT.
