It was the most looked forward to event of every childhood summer. Grandpa would load up his big Ford car with the camping gear and off we would go to Burlingame or Rocky Neck. Kids never want to wake up early but on those special trips we tried to be the first one of the four grandchildren up so we would have Grandpa all to ourselves for a little while. He made those trips so special for all of us just by being himself. I remember the smells of him cooking breakfast, the salt water, the bike rides, the walks to the arcade, crabbing from the rocks, all with him. I am so grateful for those memories. I love you forever Grandpa...
