Condolence From: Marjorie Savoie
Condolence: Jan and I met on January 9th, 2010, in the lobby of the Agawam Post Office (I was a fellow customer, not a postal worker). I noticed that Jan had tears in her eyes, and I asked her what was wrong. She shared that her sister, Barbara terminally ill. We prayed together, and we exchanged contact information. A few days later she sent me a beautiful card, and shared that she would be travelling out to Michigan along with other family members, to say goodbye to Barb. We continued to keep in touch through the next 6 years, and I feel deeply blessed to have had such a friend! My thoughts and prayers are with Jan's family and friends. Sincerely, Marjorie Savoie

Condolence: Jan was not only a great teacher but a great person. She wanted to see all of her "kids " graduate and she did. She loved her kids and joyfully attended their functions. One of the many things I recallwas her giving a warm fuzzy. I have yet to meet another teacher as dedicated as she was. My daughter certainly benefited from being in her class. She will be missed. God blessed her with a loving and generous spirit and she passed it on to all she came in touch with. May God bless her family and friends with a peace that passes understanding.

Condolence: Mrs. Kirby was a wonderful teacher and made the first grade experience of every child a wonderful beginning to school. We will also always remember the times she came to events long after our daughter had left her classroom - events like church plays and high school graduation. God broke the mold after he created Jan. We are very sorry for your loss and know you will miss Jan very, very much.

Condolence: My sincere condolences to you, Colin, and to Pete and David and your families, and to you Lois, on Jan's passing. Jan was a great lady and was my best friend since kindergarten, 71 years ago. I was glad that son Jeff and I were able to spend some time with her on August 18, and then talk with her on her birthday, August 21. She gave off such a light that people were drawn to her. She will be greatly missed. Lux aeterna - eternal light shine upon you, my Best Friend forever.
