not many people even family members know this but stevie won the army air cross medal for flying at least 25 missions over enemy territory as a gunner on a air rescue helicoptor. He told me that there was many more missions but they just didn't record them they just went out to bring the hurt back. i know this for a fact as i was in my mothers kitchen when the mail man came mom brought in a small package wondering what it was. when we opened it there was a metal inside with a small note saying it was the army air cross and he won it flying rescue missions picking up wonded troops and bringing them back to the mash units.
